ASHTON’s new music video for “Power Play” tells a story of the battle between friendship and love. The director, Karson Eaton, and ASHTON worked with Maggie Montgomery to create a compelling story that centers around sports and the many power plays a component can have against the other. Sports games almost always have a winner; in this case of feelings unrequited, ASHTON is not a winner in her games. The opening scene was heavily inspired by the Georgian artist Bo Bartlett and the “Homecoming, 1995” mural. From there, the concept of a football homecoming influenced our decision to focus on sports.
